 Federal Labor delivers $4 million boost for local priorities in Braddon

The Albanese Labor Government is boosting support for local communities in Tasmania’s North West, West Coast and King Island with new funding to local councils provided through Phase 4 of the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure (LRCI) Program.

In announcing funding, Senator for Tasmania Anne Urquhart said that eight local councils will receive over $4 million to deliver priority local road and community infrastructure projects, creating jobs and long-lasting benefits for communities.

Over $16 million in funding will be provided to councils across Tasmania, with a total

$500 million available for councils across Australia under the LRCI Program.

Councils will be able to access their funding allocations from July, with projects to be delivered by June 2025.

Local councils will receive the following additional funding:

Central Coast Council           $771,586

Circular Head Council           $803,241

City of Burnie Council           $484,186

Devonport City Council         $506,733

King Island Council              $414,531

Latrobe Council                    $311,061

Waratah-Wynyard Council     $564,684

West Coast Council               $304,282
