MEDIA RELEASE
An urgent review of Circular Head ambulance service is required
It was distressing to read Scott Tufnell’s account of his inability to get an ambulance for an emergency trip to hospital in Burnie.
Ambulances and paramedics provide a vital emergency service and it is clear the Rockliff government is not getting the basics right.
The State Government has been aware for a long time about the concerns of paramedics with the lack of ambulance services, the ramping of ambulances and have done little if anything to ease their concerns.
The Premier is also the Health Minister and is uniquely positioned to immediately review the ambulance service in the far North-West of Tasmania and provide assurances to the Circular Head community that measures are in place to ensure this situation is not repeated.
Residents of Circular Head should not be treated like second class citizens.
